I am happy at sea and perhaps to save my soul

When Bernard Moitessier dropped out of the first Golden Globe Race around the world he wrote, “I am happy at sea and perhaps to save my soul,” as his reason to continue back around the world and not finish (he likely would have won the race).  Almost five years ago I ran across this short YouTube movie –

I enjoyethe long wayd the film, a LOT, and my plan for spring is similar to the main character’s.  Strange that the video resonated so much ‘back then’ … maybe the Universe trying to tell me something?

Also, if you haven’t read Moitessier’s book The Long Way I highly recommend you find yourself a copy!
