Back to Dockton

I wake and make my morning coffee. It is early so the boats at the public dock are quiet as if people are up they are not on deck. I enjoy watching the boats, a few seabirds and the sun rising.

Sweet Pea’s galley and the morning sun.

I receive a note from the Potters: no one going to Blake. I let them know I’m going to Dockton and will keep them informed of where I be so we can hook up again in a few days.

After breakfast I depart and once outside the Gig Harbor entrance it is up sails and an enjoyable sail all the way to the King County Park dock at Dockton – yep, sailed to the dock! I stop at the dock as there are free showers here. The bath house is a bit ‘institutional’ but clean and the water is good and hot.

Once I’ve showered I motor out into the bay and anchor.

A great sunset at Dockton.

After some contemplation I decide that tomorrow I’ll head back into South Puget Sound. Looking at the tide tables shows that I’ll need to be up early and anchor up by 5AM to ride the current south through Tacoma Narrows. Where should I go once back in South Sound?
